Press Services

When it comes to advancements in the printing industry, Philadelphia Print & Color is at the forefront of technology. We have the capability to print digitally with the Heidelberg Quickmaster DI Digital Press. This revolutionary system allows you to go directly to press with your digital file producing plates directly from postscript output. This direct imaging press is environmentally sound because it uses no film, no processing chemicals, no plate making solutions, no toners and no dampening chemicals. It is also more affordable and delivers waterless offset quality in resolutions as high as 2540 dpi. The same projects that were limited to black-and-white or spot-color production due to time or budget restrictions can now be printed in full process color.

The Heidelberg Speedmaster Six Color Press Plus Aqueous Coating has proven to be a stronger, higher quality protection than varnish. This press gives us the versatility to print on paper thickness from onion skin to forty point board. It delivers unsurpassed printing quality with a maximum sheet size of 28” x 40.125”. The Speedmaster has a continuous feed feature which allows the pressman to load the paper without shutting down. This means faster turnaround for our customers.

Digital on Demand Services

It has never been easier or more affordable to harness the benefits of print on demand, electronic storage/distribution and 1:1 marketing. Philadelphia Print & Color is pleased to bring you the DocuTech 6135, the cutting edge of digital printing with an output of up to 135 pages per minute and a laser raster output of 600 dpi. The DocuTech also permits usage of a huge array of paper input/output options. Delivery and quality is assured for your short run printing needs.

The LightJet 430 image quality is superior to competitive photo printers because its imaging technology ensures a constant pixel size, shape and intensity over the entire image. Media is held stationary within a precision internal drum, while a spinning mirror directs laser light to expose reflective and backlit photographic material. Using red, green and blue lasers, the LightJet 430 achieves true continuous-tone photographs without visible dots. Inkjet and electrostatic printers, which simulate photo quality with half-tone dot patterns, would need to image at 4000 dpi to duplicate the same image crispness, highlights and shadow detail. LightJet 430 digital photo printers set the standard for backlit displays. The LightJet 430 design incorporates advanced laser technology to optimize color range and color resolution. Its 36-bit color space, capable of producing 68 million colors, ensures optimum control over the light source to reproduce color with perfect fidelity. In comparison, other photo printers are limited to 24 bits or 16.7 million colors.

The HP Indigo press combines the creative flexibility of digital printing with the quality of an
offset press. This unique functionality enables Philadelphia Print & Color to produce everything from customized documents to personalized marketing material - quickly, easily and economically.
It is the ideal solution for the moderate to high volume production of four- to six-color, on-demand and personalized print production, the perfect tool for your variable printing needs.

Wide-Format Services

Wide-format production presses provide a digital alternative to conventional screen printing on short and medium run jobs. Digital presses use continuous drop-on-demand inkjet technology to produce high quality graphics for a wide range of applications. These include point-of-purchase displays, banners, sheet billboards, bus shelter graphics, posters, shopping mall displays, airport terminal displays and many more. The machines can print on a wide variety of standard media including: matt or gloss finish paper, PVC banner material, mesh, canvas, cotton and more in roll-to-roll or roll-to-sheet modes.

ENCAD’s proprietary Octachrome™ ink sets combine a unique set of four new colors with ENCAD’s existing four-color process inks. The NovaJet 850’s eight-color performance produces incredible color gamut and smooth tonal gradations that far exceed that of standard six-color printers.

The NovaJet 880 is a hybrid sensation––printing up to eight vibrant colors on both flexible media and rigid media up to 1/2” (12.7 mm) thick. The NovaJet 880 boasts all the color, flexibility, and speed of the award-winning NovaJet 850––then adds the major benefit of superior image quality on a wider range of substrates.

Vuteks digital printers can print on a wide variety of substrates, including vinyl, pressure sensitive, paper, mesh and textiles. They can print up to 6.7 feet in width. 720 dpi resolution produces images that are sharp, crisp and consistent.

Digital ink jet printers use water-based inks. It is for this reason that we recommend lamination or encapsulation on all of our inkjet prints.
